Blommor i närbild

‘Blommor I närbild’

A big part of my practice is to find solace. Creating bright colourful compositions of flowers is a way for me to meditate.

I’m borrowing inspiration from wallpapers and interior I remember from growing up in Stockholm in the 80s mixed with a love for retro design and pop art.

Last year I stumbled on a 60s Ikebana book of bright high contrast colour photos of simple and well balanced flower-arrangements.

It inspired me to look into the concept of Ikebana, loosely translates to living flowers.

As a result I started a series of paintings ‘Blommor I närbild’ (Flower close-ups).
